You think that was difficult on us, what about the wardrobe team? We were all more appreciative because we knew we were there a limited period of time. It was going to be three-and-a-half months, and there was a chance this would be it and there wouldn’t be anymore after this. They know these characters so well, and I don’t want to give anything away, but I don’t know that there’s necessarily any real resolution in these four [episodes].
So, in the morning you’re doing winter and spring, and in the afternoon you’re doing fall and [summer]. I think there’s plenty of room for more, and yes, I would love to do more. There’s just…you’re dealing with Amy and Dan Palladino—the possibilities are endless.
Glamour: What did you think of Lauren when you first met her?
Scott: No, but I’ve purchased things for her of greater value.
Glamour: Lauren and Alexis admitted to us that they met for the first time at the hotel in Canada where you all were getting together for a first cast dinner. Scott: I came into Canada, and the airline had lost my luggage. I had prepared one scene, but I was supposed to have prepared two.
I had three auditions that day, and this was the second one. I had been auditioning for a couple years and not getting the role, but the feedback was always, "He’s so good! " It’s like when you don’t care anymore, you’re just going to get me [at my most real]. I’m late for this other [audition], I’ll probably get a ticket [outside], so can I get out of here, please? Scott: I did the thing, [they were all] lovely, we all bonded, OK, bye bye.
(And yes, in a vaguely awkward twist, Krause plays her brother on the show.) Lauren's legions of fans are thrilled to see her happily coupled at 43 — and who wouldn't root for her?
She's as real and relatable as one of your best friends, the one you just knew had a great romance in her future.
In her book-filled library, she shows me a framed black-and-white portrait of herself as a baby, being held by her maternal grandmother.
They're watching a beautiful dark-haired woman — Lauren's mom — being interviewed on TV.
"That one's my favorite," she says of the picture, smiling.
And was the chemistry with co-star Lauren Graham just for the cameras or was something brewing behind the scenes as well?
